Egypt’s trade deficit rises 18.3% in July

Arab Finance: Egypt’s trade deficit grew by 18.3% year on year (YoY) in July, reaching $4.6 billion, versus $3.89 billion, data from the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) showed.

The increase in the deficit was driven by a 14.9% YoY rise in imports, which amounted to $8.14 billion, compared to $7.08 billion in July 2023.

Meanwhile, exports also saw growth of 10.7% last July, valuing at $3.54 billion , versus $3.2 billion in the same month of 2023.
