Arab Finance: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) saw a varied performance at Wednesday’s close.
Market capitalization concluded the session at EGP 2.176 trillion.
The benchmark EGX30 index lost 0.13%, closing the session at 30,545.11 points.
The small- and mid-cap EGX70 (EWI) added 1.58% to end at 7,688.98 points, while the EGX100 inched up 1.34%, wrapping up the session at 10,856.48 points.
The Sharia-compliant index, EGX33 Shariah index, shed 0.02%, concluding the session at 3,185.59 points.
Today’s trading saw 899.862 million shares exchanged over 144,212 transactions, with a turnover of EGP 5.198 billion.
Respecting investors’ trading activity, retail investors seized 75.92% of total trading transactions, while institutional investors made up 24.07% of trading.
Egyptian traders constituted 89.44% of total trading transactions, while Arab and foreign investors accounted for 5.71% and 4.85%, respectively.
Egyptian and Arab traders were net buyers with EGP 195.724 million and EGP 58.722 million, respectively. Foreign investors were net sellers with EGP 254.446 million.
