Egypt secures €11M in EU grants to support child protection, vaccine manufacturing

Arab Finance: The Egyptian House of Representatives has approved two grant agreements totaling €11 million from the European Union (EU), aimed at bolstering child protection systems and enhancing vaccine and medicine manufacturing in Egypt, as per a statement.

The first agreement, backed by Presidential decree No. 398 of 2024, allocates €8 million to fund the “EU Future Generations” program, which seeks to strengthen Egypt’s national child protection systems.

The initiative focuses on addressing child labor, improving access to health, education, and social services, and fostering a supportive environment for children.

The second grant, amounting to €3 million, was approved under Presidential decree No. 399 of 2024.

It is designated for the "Standards for Enhancing Vaccine and Medicine Manufacturing and Application of Health Technologies" project.

This initiative aims to increase Egypt's capacity for local vaccine and pharmaceutical production, ensuring equitable access across Africa and contributing to global health strategies.
