Arab Finance: INTRO Technology, the technology division of INTRO Holding and parent company of Advansys and Forte Cloud, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Sterling and Wilson Data Center (SWDC) to oversee the contracting and construction of the Kemet Data Center, as per a press release.

Located in the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) and developed by INTRO Technology, this project aims to enhance Egypt's digital infrastructure and position the country as a key player in the data center and cloud services sector.

Under the MoU, SWDC will act as the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractor for the data center.

The company will manage essential project components, including design, planning, budgeting, and timeline oversight.

SWDC is committed to achieving critical milestones, such as Integrated System Testing and Accreditation (ISAT), and will provide maintenance services for three to five years post-completion.

The Kemet Data Center is designed to address the rising demand for cloud services, the Internet of Things (IoT), and digital transformation across the Middle East and Africa.

It will deliver secure, cost-effective, and scalable data storage solutions, leveraging Egypt's strategic location near significant undersea cables.

INTRO Holding, established in 1980, is a leading Egyptian conglomerate with a diverse portfolio across technology, trading, oil and gas, engineering, real estate, and financial investment.

Its strategic investments and partnerships have consistently bolstered its subsidiaries and contributed to Egypt's economic development.

SWDC, with a 96-year legacy as a prominent EPC contractor in India, entered the data center sector in 2015 and opened its Egyptian branch in 2017.

Within a short span, the company has successfully completed 25 data center projects, achieving a total IT load exceeding 65 megawatts in both domestic and international markets.
