Arab Finance: Egyptian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi has participated in the 40th edition of the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC), as per a statement.
Hosted by ADNOC Group and under the patronage of the UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the event runs from November 4th to November 7th at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center.
Held under the theme of "Connecting Minds. Transforming Energy," the event underscores the importance of artificial intelligence (AI) and finance in accelerating the global shift towards sustainable energy.
ADIPEC 2024 brings together top energy ministers, leaders of major global energy companies, and prominent experts and innovators from diverse fields, including energy and AI.
This year’s edition will see the launch of three new conferences, focusing on contributions from the finance, technology, and youth sectors, as well as representatives from the Global South, aiming to shape a more sustainable and inclusive energy future.
Moreover, Badawi participated as a keynote speaker in the opening ministerial session titled "New Global Leaders and Energy Transition."
Badawi stressed that around one in 10 people around the world lack access to electricity and that the energy sector is responsible for a significant amount of greenhouse gas emissions.
He also discussed the role of AI in supporting energy transition efforts by developing new materials for clean energy technologies.
