CBE completes preparations for hosting AfDB Annual Meetings 2023

Arab Finance: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) has finished the preparations for hosting the 2023 Annual Meetings of the African Development Bank Group (AfDB) from May 22nd to 26th, the bank stated on May 19th.

To be held under the theme of Mobilizing Private Sector Financing for Climate and Green Growth in Africa, the meetings will take place in Sharm El Sheikh with the participation of 81 regional and non-regional member countries of the AfDB, central banks’ governors, finance ministers, senior officials from the private sector, and academics.

Being hosted for the third time in Egypt, the event is expected to bring together about 4,000 participants.

“Egypt’s hosting of the 2023 Annual Meetings represents an important link in the chain of continuous cooperation with the African Development Bank, which we aspire to maintain in various fields to enhance efforts towards combating climate change and contribute to the transition into a green economy in Egypt and in Africa,” Governor of the CBE Hassan Abdalla commented.
