EGX indices flag in red on Monday

Arab Finance: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Monday’s trading session in the red zone, with the EGX30 index down 1.06% to 52,468.71 points.

The Shariah index declined 1.66% to 6,291.75 points, while the EGX35-LV fell by 1.97% to 6,279.82 points.

Likewise, both the EGX70 index and the EGX100 index finished the session lower by 2.89% at 18,516.8 points and by 2.43% at 24,702.56 points, respectively.

A total of 1.986 billion shares were exchanged at EGP 8.258 billion over 251,343 transactions, with the market cap hitting EGP 4.091 trillion.

Individuals controlled 73.91% of trading transactions, while institutions represented 26.08%.

Egyptians took over 88.68% of total trading, while foreign and Arab investors represented 8.5% and 2.82%, respectively.

Egyptian and Arab traders were net sellers with EGP 305.981 million and EGP 140.192 million, respectively. Meanwhile, foreign investors were buyers with EGP 446.173 million.
