Russia's state nuclear energy corporation Rosatom has announced that Egypt has become the largest recipient of financing among the company's nuclear projects worldwide, driven by the development of the Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant.

Egypt and Russia have signed a protocol supplementing their intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in the construction and operation of nuclear power plants, alongside a supplementary contract for the El Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant project.

The implementation of the El Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) is set to be completed by 30% by the end of the current year.

The Egyptian Ministry of Public Business Sector has discussed potential cooperation and investment opportunities with Russia’s State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom (ROSATOM).

The Egyptian Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Authority (ENRRA) issued a permit to Russia’s Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation for the construction of the El-Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant’s 3rd unit with a capacity of 1,200 megawatts.
