Minister of Industry Khaled Hashem discussed China National Tire and Rubber Co's expansion plans in the Egyptian market with the company's representatives, led by Chairman Wang Jianjun, including a $550 million investment to establish a new tire manufacturing plant in Alexandria.

China National Tyre & Rubber Co. is seeking to raise its investments in Egypt, through its subsidiary Prometeon Tyre Egypt, by $400 million.

Egypt has signed a contract with China’s Sailun Group to establish a tire manufacturing plant in the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone), with total investments of about $1 billion over three phases, as per a statement.
