Arab Finance: The Egyptian General Authority for Supply Commodities (GASC) has launched a tender to import white wholly milled short-grain Indian rice for the Holding Company for Food Industries, according to a statement by Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade.
Shipments are set to arrive during the period from February 1st to February 19th and/or from February 20th to March 10th, 2024.
The rice shipments are of a 10% breakage rate packed in 50-kilo containers and from the 2023/2024 crop.
Price offers shall be submitted based on cost, insurance, and freight (CIF) in US dollars or Egyptian pounds, and payment will be at sight.
Bids shall be accompanied by an initial deposit estimated at $75,000, or its equivalent in Egyptian pounds if prices are submitted in the local currency and a letter of guarantee for GASC.
Moreover, the offers must be at least of 20,000 metric tons +/- 10% at the seller’s request.
The deadline for submitting technical and financial bids is on December 21st.
