IFC’s Vice President for Africa visits Egypt in December

Arab Finance: The International Finance Corporation’s (IFC) Vice President for Africa Sérgio Pimenta is visiting Egypt from December 17th to 19th, according to a press release sent to Arab Finance.

The visit aims to show the IFC’s continuous commitment to supporting Egypt’s development priorities via boosting private sector participation in the economy.

During his visit, Pimenta is set to meet with key government officials, private sector representatives, and development partners to mull over new opportunities for further economic growth to back Egypt’s Asset Monetization Program.

IFC’s investment portfolio in Egypt stands at nearly $1.7 billion, with its active advisory portfolio amounting to $32 million.

It is worth noting that IFC supports the private sector in Egypt across key areas, such as access to finance, fintech, climate finance, manufacturing, infrastructure and renewable energy, healthcare, and gender inclusion.
