Madbouly, Chinese firms mull localization of PV cells, semiconductors manufacturing in Egypt

Arab Finance: The Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly has met with officials from the Chinese firms Hony Capital and China National Building Material (CNBM) to probe cooperation in the field of photovoltaic (PV) cells and semiconductors, as per a statement.

Madbouly stressed the country’s interest in the localization of the components needed for renewable energy projects which could contribute to scaling up the capacity of the energy generated from renewables.

In related news, the Chinese electronics company TCL is currently in talks with the Egyptian government to establish a factory for the production of televisions in Assiut, Al Mal News reported.
