Arab Finance: The Egyptian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El-Molla has met with the CEO of the UK-based oil and gas exploration firm Energean PLC Mathios Rigas to probe the company’s expansion plans in Egypt, a statement showed.
The meeting tackled Energean’s plans to scale up its natural gas production from its concession areas in Egypt’s Mediterranean in the coming period.
The firm is keen on collaborating with the Egyptian petroleum sector in developing offshore natural gas fields in the Mediterranean’s North Idku, North Ameriya, and Abu Qir, Rigas noted.
He added that the company’s daily production of natural gas in Egypt reached 150 million square feet.
This came on the sidelines of the first day of the Egypt Energy Show (EGYPES 2024).
