Arab Finance: Hitachi Energy announced the launch of its latest energy quality assurance solution, SVC Light®, to boost network efficiency and improve transmission capacity in the strategic Owainat Development area in southwest Egypt, where desert wasteland is being reclaimed for agricultural use, according to an emailed press release on February 13th.
Power quality solutions - for the Egyptian Electricity Transmission (EETC), the official operator of the national grid - are part of the government's plan to make the country a regional hub for electricity exchange with both Africa and Europe.
Moreover, Hitachi Energy provided an engineering solution that guarantees energy quality, completely designed based on SVC Light static synchronous compensator technology (STATCOM) to enhance network capacity and provide more energy to serve rural development.
“The successful energization of Egypt's groundbreaking STATCOM project is a major accomplishment for the energy sector in Egypt,” Sabah Mashaly, Chairman of EETC, said. “This is a successful step forward in the country’s development plan.”
