Egypt increases private sector minimum wage to EGP 6,000 starting May 1st

Arab Finance: The National Wages Council (NWC) has decided to raise the minimum wage for private sector employees to EGP 6,000 from EGP 3,500 as of May 1st, Ministry of Planning and Economic Development stated.

The decision rules out micro-enterprises that comprise less than 10 employees, Minister of Planning Hala Elsaid noted.

It also aligns with the recent local and global economic variables, she added.
