Egypt to invest EGP 14B in Suez under FY 2022/23 plan

Arab Finance: The Egyptian government will direct EGP 14 billion worth of investments to the Suez governorate under the fiscal year (FY) 2022/2023 plan, Minister of Planning and Economic Development Hala El-Said revealed in a statement on February 21st.

The investments are set to be pumped into up to 178 development projects in the governorate, El-Said highlighted.

The minister explained that EGP 8.5 billion of these investments will be injected into the petroleum sector’s projects in the governorate, while EGP 2.1 billion will be directed to the transport sector.

The higher education sector is planned to see investments worth EGP 872 million in FY 2022/2023, while the healthcare sector is set to witness EGP 470 million in investments, she added.

Moreover, a sum of EGP 522 million will be invested in the Suez Canal during the current fiscal year, the minister said.
