Egypt aims to boost trade exchange with Iraq by 41% in 2025

Arab Finance: Egypt is targeting increasing the volume of trade exchange with Iraq by around 41% within the coming year, a government official told Asharq Business.

The official stated, as per the most recent statistics, that the value of Egyptian exports to Iraq amounts to around $700 million annually, while Egypt’s imports from Iraq are worth no more than $7 million,

On August 27th, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with the Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' Al-Sudani during his official visit to Egypt with a high-level delegation.

During the meeting, both sides discussed bilateral cooperation, especially in increasing mutual investments, along with cooperation in the fields of infrastructure, urban development, tourism, energy, transport, and industry.

Both leaders also exchanged views on ways to help the region overcome the current challenges, which threaten its stability and capabilities.
