Arab Finance: Egypt has released 308,000 tons of corn and soybean fodder worth $134 million from the country’s ports during the period from May 4th to May 11th this year, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Al-Sayed El-Quseir stated on May 15th.
This marks the largest amount of fodder released from ports since October 16th, 2022.
The released amount comprised 251,000 tons of corn worth $90 million, 57,000 tons of soybeans worth $43 million, and $1.4 million worth of feed additives.
This brings the total amount of fodder released from October 16th, 2022 to May 11th, 2023 to 4.7 million tons, including 3.5 million tons of corn, and 1.2 million tons of soybeans and feed additives at a total value of $2.3 billion.
This is part of the government's efforts to secure the release of production inputs and fodder from ports in cooperation with the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE).
