Arab Finance: Egypt will launch new mechanisms for quality assurance of primary care services provided to beneficiaries of the Universal Health Insurance System (UHIS), Minister of Finance and Head of the Universal Healthcare Insurance Authority (UHIA) Mohamed Maait stated on June 6th.
The mechanisms include incentive packages to partner with private primary care units and centers that meet the quality standards issued by the General Authority for Healthcare Accreditation and Regulation (GAHAR), the minister highlighted.
Maait noted that a cooperation protocol was signed between UHIA, Ministry of Health and Population, GAHAR, and eHealth to boost the integration between the country’s different healthcare bodies, including the private ones, and allow citizens to access medical services easily.
The protocol was signed during the Africa Health ExCon.
