El-Sisi begins tour to 3 African states to boost ties

Arab Finance: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi started an African tour to Angola, Zambia, and Mozambique, as per a statement by the presidency Spokesman on June 6th.

The President’s tour comes as part of Egypt’s keenness to strengthen communication and coordination with its African fellows as well as boost cooperation in several fields, especially via shoring up mutual cooperation on the economic, trade, and investment levels, Presidential Spokesman Ahmed Fahmy said.

El-Sisi is expected to hold a series of bilateral talks with heads of African states, with the aim of discussing mechanisms for boosting all aspects of cooperation with Egypt, mutual regional issues update, ways to crystalize joint African frameworks to push forward the development process and enhance economic integration in the continent.

During the President’s visit to Zambia, he will attend the 22nd Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) Heads of State and Government Summit, during which Egypt will be handed over the rotating presidency of the summit from Zambia.
