Egypt’s annual core inflation rate records 40.7% in July: CBE

Arab Finance: Egypt’s annual core inflation rate recorded 40.7% in July, compared to 41.0% last June, the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) announced in a press release on August 11th.

The monthly core consumer price index (CPI) inflation recorded 1.3% last July, compared to 1.5% in the same month of 2022 and 1.7% in June 2023, the CBE highlighted.

Data also showed that the annual headline urban inflation rate registered 36.5% in July, compared to 35.7% in June.

On August 10th, the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) announced that Egypt's annual headline inflation rate surged to 38.2% in July, compared to 14.6% in the same month of 2022.
