Cairo Housing swings to loss in H1

Arab Finance: Cairo Housing and Development Company (ELKA) incurred a consolidated net loss before minority interest of EGP 6.339 million in the first half (H1) 2023, versus net profits of EGP 8.418 million in H1 2022, according to the company’s financial statements filed to the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) on August 16th.

Operating revenues dropped to EGP 174.715 million during the January-June period of this year, compared to EGP 1.185 billion during the first six months of 2022.

Standalone net profits reached EGP 1.332 million in H1 2023, down from EGP 10.112 million in H1 2022.

Cairo Housing is an Egypt-based firm engaged in real estate and housing development operations.

The listed company’s main activities include acquiring, selling, and leasing lands and buildings as well as city planning and infrastructure construction activities.
