GASC imports 250,000 tons of rice to boost strategic reserves

Arab Finance: Egypt’s General Authority for Supply Commodities (GASC) has imported 250,000 tons of white rice, to be delivered within six months as of date of the contract, the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade stated on October 15^th.

The move aims to increase the country’s strategic reserve of rice to be sufficient for over six months.

Once received, the rice shipment will be rolled out in the market at affordable prices.
