Arab Finance: Abu Qir Fertilizers and Chemical Industries Company has completed the ammonia converter revamp project and its associated facilities at its Abu Qir (1) Plant, alongside the replacement of the ammonia transfer line, as per a disclosure.

The project increased the ammonia plant’s production capacity by approximately 200 tons per day and the urea plant’s capacity by 210 tons per day.

The upgrade also reduced the natural gas required for operations, improving the utilization of the company’s production assets and supporting its strategy to optimize energy efficiency and achieve operational sustainability.

The company said the project would also strengthen its competitive position by enhancing operational efficiency and lowering energy consumption.

Also, the firm reported a 119% increase in net profit after tax to EGP 10.01 billion during the first six months of this year, compared with EGP 4.57 billion in the corresponding period a year earlier.

Revenue rose 86% to EGP 23.52 billion during the January-June period of 2026 from EGP 12.67 billion during the first half (H1) of 2025.
