Banks shut on August 27 for Prophet Muhammad’s birthday: CBE

Arab Finance: All banks in Egypt will be off on Thursday, August 27, on the occasion of Prophet Muhammad’s Birthday holiday, the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) announced on August 19.

Banks will resume working on Sunday, August 30.

On August 18, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly declared the same day a paid holiday for employees in ministries, government agencies, public authorities, local administration units, public sector companies, and public business sector companies.
