CBE auctions EGP 110B T-bills on September 17

Arab Finance: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) auctioned treasury bills (T-bills) at a total value of EGP 110 billion over two issues on Thursday, September 17, according to the CBE’s data.

The first tranche, amounting to EGP 30 billion, holds an 182-day tenor until March 23, 2027.

Valued at EGP 80 billion, the second auction will mature in 364 days on September 21, next year.

T-bills are short-term government securities offered by the CBE on behalf of the Ministry of Finance. They are mainly used to help the government finance its short-term funding needs.
