CIB commits up to EGP 2B to MNT-Halan’s international offering

Arab Finance: The Commercial International Bank (CIB) has entered into a cornerstone investment agreement with MNT-Halan, committing to invest up to EGP 2 billion in the international offering forming part of MNT-Halan’s planned IPO on the Egyptian Exchange (EGX).

The investment will be made through the purchase of shares in the international offering, subject to the terms and conditions set out in the fintech platform’s offering documents.

CIB’s participation reflects its commitment to supporting leading Egyptian companies, while reinforcing its presence across the financial services and capital markets sectors.

Commenting on the transaction, Amr El Ganainy, Deputy CEO and Executive Board Member of CIB, said: “We are confident in the company’s potential to continue expanding its financial services offering and achieving further growth and milestones in the period ahead. CIB is pleased to support MNT-Halan through its investment in the company’s equity as part of the proposed offering.”

Commenting on CIB’s participation, Mounir Nakhla, Founder, CEO and Managing Director of MNT-Halan, said:  “CIB knows this market exceptionally well, and its perspective and experience will be invaluable as we build the next stage of MNT-Halan. CIB believed in us early on, and their support for the non-bank financial sector has helped the entire industry grow.”

Founded in December 2009, MNT-Halan is a technology-enabled non-bank financial services company offering lending, payments, investments, and other financial services through its digital Halan App, with a nationwide network exceeding 1,200 distribution points across 25 governorates.

At the end of June 2026, the group originated cumulative financing disbursements of EGP 178 billion and served approximately 7.9 million customers.

Last month, the EGX Listing Committee approved the temporary listing of 1.6 billion shares in MNT-Halan, representing an issued capital of EGP 160 million.

The shares, divided across two issuances, carry a par value of EGP 0.10 each and will be added to the EGX database under the non-banking financial services sector on September 15, 2026. The company will be traded on under the ticker (HALN.CA) once trading begins.
