Dana Gas's Egypt production rises 10% in first 9 months of 2026 on drilling gains

Arab Finance: Dana Gas’s production in Egypt continued to grow in the first nine months of 2026, with six new wells drilled so far, including four exploration and two development wells, in addition to three recompleted existing wells, according to a press release.

The ADX-listed group plans to drill three additional exploration wells, one before the end of 2026 and two in the first quarter (Q1) of 2027.

Dana Gas has expanded its overall exploration and development program to 13 wells, up from the 11 initially planned.

The drilling campaign has delivered 50 billion cubic feet (Bcf) of gas resources and 35 million standard cubic feet per day (MMscf/d) of incremental production. These additions have more than offset natural field declines, delivering a 10% year-on-year (YoY) increase in production.

The payment position in Egypt has also improved, with no overdue receivables since June 2026, supporting continued investment in the country.

On the operational level, production in the North African country averaged 13,500 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boepd) during the first nine months of 2026, up 10% from 12,300 boepd in the same period of 2025.

In Q3 2026, Egypt production rose 15% to 13,850 boepd from 12,050 boepd in Q3 2025, marking a third consecutive quarter of year-on-year production growth.

Dana Gas' total collections from Egypt during the nine-month period increased to $74 million, while trade receivables in the country stood at $15 million at the end of September.

Richard Hall, CEO of Dana Gas, commented: “Our investment program in Egypt continues to deliver strong results, with new wells adding production and gas resources. The improved payment position gives us greater confidence to keep investing and build on this progress. We are also advancing Chemchemal as our next major growth project, with drilling planned before year-end and long-term gas sales agreements already in place.”
