EGX closes Monday on varied note

Arab Finance: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) showed a mixed performance on Monday, with the EGX30 index down 0.79% to 55,415.07 points.

The Shariah index declined by 0.87% to 6,636.63 points, while the EGX35-LV fell by 0.24% to 6,882.03 points.

On the other hand, the EGX70 index and EGX100 index closed the session higher by 0.63% at 21,771.03 points and by 0.33% at 28,106.43 points, respectively.

A total of 4.871 billion shares were exchanged at EGP 17.908 billion through 325,880 transactions. Meanwhile, the market cap amounted to EGP 4.288 trillion.

Individuals dominated 67.46% of trading transactions, while institutions made up the remaining 32.53%.

Egyptians controlled 79.55% of total trading, while foreign and Arab investors represented 9.91% and 10.54%, respectively.

Foreign and Egyptian traders were net buyers with EGP 1.825 billion and EGP 145.869 million, respectively. Arab investors were sellers with EGP 1.971 billion.
