EGX closes Sunday in red zone

Arab Finance: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) showed a negative performance on Sunday, with the EGX30 index down 1.09% to 55,664.79 points.

The Shariah index retreated by 0.64% to 6,712.59 points, while the EGX35-LV fell by 1.09% to 6,923.07 points.

Both the EGX70 index and the EGX100 index finished the session lower by 0.98% at 21,192.67 points and by 1.04% at 27,705.07 points, respectively.

The EGX’s turnover reached EGP 10.986 billion through the exchange of 2.650 billion shares over 261,734 transactions, while the market cap hit EGP 4.365 trillion.

Individuals controlled 83.66% of trading transactions, while institutions accounted for 16.33%.

Egyptians represented 96.02% of total trading, while Arab and foreign investors made up 2.75% and 1.23%, respectively.

Arab traders were sellers with EGP 65.541 million. Egyptian and foreign traders were net buyers with EGP 22.603 million and EGP 42.937 million, respectively.
