Arab Finance: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) showed a mixed performance on Thursday, with the EGX30 index rising 0.41% to 54,737.07 points.
The Shariah index edged up by 0.23% to 6,533.13 points, while the EGX35-LV went up by 0.15% to 6,750.59 points.
Both the EGX70 index and the EGX100 index finished the session lower by 0.70% at 20,816.03 points and by 0.49% at 27,052.41 points, respectively.
The EGX’s turnover reached EGP 12.351 billion through the exchange of 3.944 billion shares over 291,777 transactions, while the market cap hit EGP 4.218 trillion.
Individuals controlled 80.17% of trading transactions, while institutions accounted for 19.82%.
Egyptians represented 90.46% of total trading, while foreign and Arab investors made up 7.24% and 2.3%, respectively.
Egyptian traders were buyers with EGP 278.186 billion. Foreign and Arab traders were net sellers with EGP 255.606 million and EGP 22.580 million, respectively.
