Arab Finance: Bilateral trade between Egypt and the UAE hit around $9.68 billion in 2025, with Egypt recording a trade surplus of nearly $4.3 billion, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Mohamed Farid indicated.

Egyptian exports to the UAE increased from $1.22 billion in 2021 to $6.99 billion in 2025, representing a leap of about 475%. Meanwhile, imports from the UAE rose from $2.46 billion to $2.69 billion during the same period.

Farid announced these figures during a meeting with UAE Minister of Foreign Trade Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi to discuss ways to deepen economic, trade, and investment ties between the two countries.

He stressed the importance of continued coordination between the two countries, particularly in digital transformation and the automation of government services. The minister expressed Egypt’s interest in leveraging the UAE’s experience in developing digital platforms and simplifying procedures for investors and other stakeholders.

Both sides explored opportunities to strengthen economic and trade cooperation in African markets and leverage the potential of both countries to develop joint initiatives and projects.

Farid outlined Egypt’s investment potential across several sectors, supported by its advanced infrastructure, industrial and logistics zones, and extensive network of free trade agreements, which provide access to Arab, African, and European markets.

They agreed to maintain coordination during the coming period, strengthen the cooperation between the public and private sectors, and work to remove obstacles facing investors. The efforts aim at opening new horizons for trade expansion and investment flows between Egypt and the UAE.

In the January-July 2025 period, trade exchange between Egypt and the UAE jumped by 71% year-on-year (YoY) to $5.4 billion, according to the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).
