Arab Finance: Egypt has completed the required work under the first phase of the Haya Karima presidential initiative in 907 villages, as the government moves to finalize the remaining projects and prepare for the initiative’s second phase, as per a statement.

During a meeting held at the government headquarters in New Alamein, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly reviewed the handover of completed projects to operating entities to begin providing services to citizens.

Madbouly said the meeting aimed to follow up on the completion of outstanding projects under the first phase and assess preparations for the initiative's second phase.

The first phase covers 1,477 villages, with work currently being completed and projects handed over to operating entities in several governorates.

Between July 12 and August 24, work was completed in 57 villages, bringing the total number of villages where all targeted projects have been completed to 907.

A total of 23,741 projects across all sectors have been completed under the first phase, of which 18,195 have been handed over for operation and provision of services.

Madbouly also highlighted President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s continued monitoring of the initiative and directives to accelerate implementation. Haya Karima aims to develop rural Egypt, improve the quality of services available to citizens, and support the state’s comprehensive development goals.

Additionally, the meeting reviewed plans for the second phase and coordination among the relevant authorities ahead of its launch. The government intends to draw on the first phase’s implementation experience and processes to make optimal use of the investments allocated to the next stage, which will extend the initiative to additional villages.
