Arab Finance: Egyptian taxpayers created 612,000 electronic accounts through the real estate tax mobile application during its first two months of the new facilitation package, Minister of Finance Ahmed Kouchouk said in a statement.

The application received 490,000 tax returns covering more than 830,000 properties, including 636,000 residential units, 188,000 non-residential units, and over 6,000 other establishments.

Kouchouk said the figures reflect growing public confidence in the government’s real estate tax facilitation package, thanking taxpayers for responding to the initiative.

Taxpayers also paid EGP 28 million on account of real estate tax to benefit from the new facilitations.
