Arab Finance: Trade exchange between Egypt and African Union (AU) countries rose 10.9% to $6.1 billion in the first seven months of 2026, from $5.5 billion in the same period of 2025, according to data issued by the Cabinet Media Center.
Egyptian exports to AU markets rose 4.7% to $4.5 billion between January and July 2026, up from approximately $4.3 billion during the same seven-month period a year earlier.
Libya was the largest African market for Egyptian exports, receiving goods worth $869 million. Sudan followed with $659 million, ahead of Algeria at $566 million, Morocco at $521 million, and Tunisia at $252 million.
Electrical machinery and equipment topped the listed export categories at $384 million, followed by plastics and plastic products at $354 million and iron, steel, and related products at $270 million. Exports of miscellaneous food preparations totaled $205 million, while animal and vegetable fats and oils reached $176 million.
