Arab Finance: The Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation and the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources denied reports claiming that the quota of subsidized fertilizers supplied by producers to the Agriculture Ministry had been cut as of August, as per a joint statement.

Both ministries confirmed that no decisions or measures have been taken by the relevant authorities to reduce or modify the subsidized fertilizer quota.

The agriculture ministry said the annual quota remains unchanged at 2.4 million tons, noting that the Fertilizer Coordination Committee has not held any meetings to discuss a reduction or adjustment to the allocated quantities.

It further emphasized that subsidized fertilizer shipments and supply programs are continuing according to established schedules, with work underway to ensure deliveries reach farmers nationwide.

Fertilizer producers and factories are teaming up to address any operational challenges and ensure the regular supply of allocated fertilizer quotas at the same quantities throughout 2026, the ministry added.

Meanwhile, the petroleum ministry affirmed that it continues to supply fertilizer factories with the natural gas volumes required to maintain stable operations and production.

It highlighted that consistent gas supplies throughout 2025 and 2026 have supported the performance of Egypt’s fertilizer industry, enabling producers to meet domestic demand as well as maintain export activities.

The two ministries urged media outlets to verify information with official sources before publishing reports concerning subsidized fertilizer quotas, supply programs, or natural gas supplies to fertilizer plants, warning that invalid information could affect the market and cause concerns among farmers.
