Elsewedy Electric opens China office to expand industrial partnerships

Arab Finance: Elsewedy Electric has opened a new subsidiary office in China as the energy and infrastructure solutions provider seeks to expand local procurement, pursue joint projects, and deepen its technical cooperation in the country, as per an emailed press release.

The move establishes a permanent platform for the company in China after more than 20 years of working with Chinese partners. The office will oversee supplier development, quality control, and cross-border project coordination, supporting Elsewedy Electric’s international operations and global supply chain.

Elsewedy Electric’s existing partnerships in China cover power and electrical equipment, technology transfer, new-energy storage, water treatment and desalination, general machinery, and supply chains serving engineering and infrastructure projects.

Alongside expanding those activities, the company plans to use its operations in Egypt and China to encourage investment and industrial cooperation between the two markets. The China office is expected to help Chinese companies assess opportunities to establish manufacturing and trading operations in Egypt and reach markets across Africa, the Middle East, and Europe.

“China is an important part of our global growth strategy, both as a center of industrial capabilities and as a domain for long-term partnership and innovation. Establishing a permanent presence allows us to build on our existing cooperation and develop deeper strategic partnerships, combining our respective capabilities to pursue new opportunities and strengthen the competitiveness of our global operations,” Ahmed Elsewedy, President and CEO of Elsewedy Electric, said.

Sherif Elaish, General Manager of Elsewedy Electric China, stated: “This expansion will further strengthen industrial and investment ties between China and Egypt. Strategically located at the crossroads of Africa, the Middle East and Europe, Egypt combines established industrial infrastructure with a skilled and competitive workforce and ongoing policy support for foreign investment. These advantages position the country as a competitive investment, manufacturing, and trading hub for Chinese enterprises seeking to establish a regional base, access new markets, and expand their international reach.”
