Arab Finance: Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Mohamed Farid toured a number of projects and factories in the Ismailia Public Free Zone to review the progress of expansion works and infrastructure upgrades, according to a statement.

Farid reviewed the zone's performance, which continued to show strong growth, with exports reaching $983 million in 2025 and $555 million by June 2026. The results highlight the zone's vital role in supporting Egypt's exports and enhancing the competitiveness of local products worldwide.

The tour is part of the ministry's nationwide monitoring program covering free zones and investment areas to improve the business climate, enhance investor services, and strengthen the capacity of free zones to attract new value-added investments.

The minister said the Ismailia Public Free Zone is one of Egypt's strategic investment hubs, citing its prime location and diversified industrial base as key factors driving the country's efforts to localize manufacturing and expand exports.

Spanning 453 feddans, the Ismailia Public Free Zone hosts 173 projects with a capital of $937 million and total investments of $1.371 billion, offering around 55,000 jobs. The zone accommodates a diverse range of industries, including textiles and ready-made garments, pharmaceuticals and medical supplies, paper and packaging, and logistics services.

The zone is currently undergoing additional expansion and infrastructure development, with investment-ready plots reaching a 100% occupancy rate. Ongoing works include extensions to utility networks, roads, electricity, water, and sewage infrastructure.
