Gold prices edge lower in Egypt as global bullion retreats

Arab Finance: Gold prices in Egypt edged lower on Thursday, September 24, in line with a decline in global gold prices as expectations that the US Federal Reserve could tighten monetary policy further weighed on the non-yielding metal.

As of 10:57 am Cairo time, the 24-karat gold was priced at EGP 7,143.33 for buying and EGP 7,043.84 for selling.

The 21-karat price fell to EGP 6,251.49 for buying and EGP 6,163.98 for selling.

Similarly, the 18-karat gold declined to EGP 5,358.42 for buying and EGP 5,283.41 for selling.

The price of a gold coin was EGP 50,011.92 for buying and EGP 49,311.84 for selling.

Globally, the international gold ounce stood at $4,279.8 for buying and $4,279.2 for selling.
