Arab Finance: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) has set the regulations and timetable for trading subscription rights tied to Paints and Chemical Industries' (Pachin) planned EGP 365 million capital increase, as per a disclosure.
Shareholders holding or purchasing Pachin shares by the close of trading on Sunday, September 13, 2026, are entitled to subscribe to 1.520833333 new shares for every ordinary share, equivalent to 152.08%.
The subscription rights will trade separately from the original shares through the over-the-counter (OTC) transfer mechanism from September 16 to October 11, 2026. The subscription period will end on October 15, but may close earlier if fully covered.
The rights' trading price will be determined by mutual agreement between the buyer and seller, with no official closing price for the subscription rights.
Pachin will be prohibited from buying or selling treasury shares during the subscription period. Treasury shares will not carry tradable subscription rights, while the rights themselves cannot be pledged as collateral.
Any subscription right will lapse if its original holder or purchaser does not use it to subscribe to the new shares.
The timetable follows approval from the Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) for Pachin to invite existing shareholders to participate in the increase of its issued capital from EGP 240 million to EGP 605 million.
The EGP 365 million increase will be carried out through the issuance of 36.5 million shares at a par value of EGP 10 each, allocated at approximately 1.521 new shares for every existing share.
