Arab Finance: Egypt’s Klivvr, an all-in-one financial and consumer finance platform, aims to grow its financing portfolio by approximately 160% next year to as much as EGP 6.5 billion, CEO Nils Bachtler told Asharq Business.
The company, a subsidiary of Sawiris family-owned Klivvr Holding Limited, is targeting a portfolio of EGP 5.5 billion to EGP 6.5 billion. Bachtler said it had disbursed more than EGP 2.5 billion during its first 12 months of operations in Egypt.
The revised target exceeds the company’s plan announced in June, when it sought to increase its consumer finance portfolio from approximately EGP 1.5 billion to between EGP 3 billion and EGP 4 billion within a year.
Its current portfolio stands at EGP 2.4 billion to EGP 2.5 billion, with banks and factoring companies providing around 95% of its funding, according to Bachtler.
Alongside the portfolio expansion, Klivvr plans to more than double its merchant network over the next 12 months, taking it from around 1,000 merchants to more than 2,000, excluding branches.
The company is also considering financing small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and is applying for the licenses needed to enter the sector. It aims to provide EGP 2 billion to EGP 3 billion in financing during the first year of its SME operations, extending its activities beyond consumer finance.
In August, the Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) reported an 88.5% year-on-year increase in consumer financing to EGP 71.839 billion in the first half (H1) of 2026, up from EGP 38.110 billion in H1 2025. The number of beneficiaries also rose by 75.7% to 8,465, compared to 4,816 a year earlier.
Also, the regulator issued in September its first comprehensive guide to the rules governing consumer finance companies, consolidating the sector’s legislative and regulatory requirements into a single reference.
