Arab Finance: Orascom Construction posted a 13.9% year-on-year (YoY) increase in consolidated backlog in the first half (H1) of 2026, logging $10.879 billion, up from $9.552 billion, according to a press release.

Revenues jumped by 52.3% to $2.978 billion at the end of June from $1.955 billion in H1 2025.

Net profits attributable to shareholders amounted to $115.3 million in January-June 2026, marking an annual leap of 90% from $60.7 million.

Consolidated new awards increased by 41.9% YoY to $4.829 billion in H1 2026 from $3.404 billion.

Osama Bishai, CEO of Orascom Construction, said: “During Q2 2026, we had an operating cash outflow of $80.7 million, reflecting working capital timing in Egypt. Separately, we received a dividend of $11.5 million from BESIX for our 50% share.”

Bishai noted: “New awards in the U.S. accounted for 68.8% of total new awards in Q2 2026 alone, led by further expansion of our data center business, where we now have a portfolio of over 2 GW of projects completed and under construction. H1 2026 EBITDA also increased 219.3% YoY with continued margin expansion.”

He mentioned: “We continue to grow our concessions platform, which is becoming an increasingly important long-term value driver for the group. Our portfolio already includes 913 MW of operational wind farms, and we are working towards the financial close of another 900 MW in Egypt.”

At the end of March 2026, the group reported a consolidated backlog of $9.4 billion, while its pro forma backlog, including its 50% share in Belgium-based construction group BESIX, reached $13.1 billion.
