Arab Finance: Dubai-based paid public parking provider Parkin Company has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Modon Misr for Asset and Facility Management, Mwasalat Misr, and Redcon Properties to explore the development of smart parking and mobility solutions in Egypt, as per a press release.
The agreement marks Parkin’s first move into the Egyptian market as part of its plans to pursue growth opportunities beyond the UAE. It will allow the four companies to assess joint projects and potential areas of integration aligned with Egypt’s current and future mobility requirements.
The parties will examine the use of Parkin’s operational, technological and advisory capabilities across smart and public parking facilities, including multi-story car parks. Their work will cover parking planning and development, policy design, demand management and technology-supported mobility services.
The potential collaboration also includes deploying Parkin’s technologies across parking assets managed by the Egyptian companies. These tools include Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR), artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled cameras, barrier-free parking systems, digital permits and parking management platforms.
The companies will assess the technical, operational and commercial models that best meet the characteristics and requirements of the Egyptian market. The planned cooperation is intended to improve operating efficiency and customer experience while supporting the creation of an integrated parking management ecosystem built around technology, data and operational practices.
"This MoU marks an important milestone in Parkin’s growth and regional expansion journey, representing our first entry into the Egyptian market and opening new avenues to deploy our operational and technological expertise while expanding the reach of our parking management and smart mobility solutions," Mohamed Abdulla Al Ali, CEO of Parkin, said.
“Through this collaboration, we look forward to combining Parkin’s international expertise with our local market knowledge to explore smart, integrated solutions tailored to the needs and future ambitions of the Egyptian market. We believe that advanced technology and operational expertise can play an important role in enhancing parking efficiency, improving the user experience, and supporting the development of more efficient, connected, and sustainable communities across Egypt,” Mohamed Aboutaleb, CEO of Modon Misr, commented.
