Petrojet wins $22.7M natural gas pipeline contract in Jordan

Arab Finance: The Petroleum Projects and Technical Consultations Co (Petrojet) was awarded a $22.7 million contract to implement a natural gas pipeline project connecting the Al-Muwaqar Industrial Development Zone, south of Amman, to Jordan’s natural gas network, according to a statement.

The project’s scope covers the design, supply, construction, and installation of an approximately 22-kilometer natural gas pipeline, which will connect the zone to the Arab Gas Pipeline.

It also includes the establishment of gas pressure reduction and metering stations, as well as a transmission and receiving facility.

The project is expected to be completed within 18 months and will be carried out by a consortium comprising Petrojet and Ahmad Yousef Al-Tarawneh and Partner Company, the general contractor.

The contract award falls within the Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources’ strategy to expand the sector’s operations in regional and international markets.

In July, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi held talks with Jordanian Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Saleh Ali Al Kharabsheh to expand cooperation across the energy, natural gas, and mining sectors.
