Sungrow lays foundation stone for $50M energy storage systems factory in SCZONE

Arab Finance: Chinese renewable energy company Sungrow has laid the foundation stone for a $50 million energy storage systems assembly factory in the Ain Sokhna Industrial Zone, according to a statement by the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE).

The Sungrow Power Suez for Energy Equipment Manufacturing LLC project will be developed within TEDA Egypt’s industrial developer area.

The project is expected to create more than 100 jobs, with a focus on recruiting local workers for manufacturing, production, and technical roles.

SCZONE Chairman Moustafa Shaikhon said the factory would support Egypt’s plans to localize the energy storage systems industry, expand new and renewable energy projects, and deepen domestic manufacturing.

He added that the investment reflects SCZONE’s infrastructure and the integration of its industrial zones and ports, while highlighting Egypt and China’s economic partnership and TEDA Egypt’s role in attracting value-added projects.
