Arab Finance: US liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports to Egypt rose by 236% year on year (YoY) to 86.047 billion cubic feet in June 2026, making the country the largest destination for US LNG during the month, according to data issued by the US Department of Energy (DOE).
The volume also marked a 138% monthly increase from 36.168 billion cubic feet in May. Egypt received 26 US LNG cargoes during June.
Italy ranked second, with imports of 51.6 billion cubic feet in June, an 11% month-on-month (MoM) and 22% YoY growth.
During the first half (H1) of 2026, Egypt imported 314.6 billion cubic feet of US LNG, compared to 115 billion cubic feet in the same period of 2025, marking an annual increase of nearly 173.6%.
The free-on-board price of US LNG exports to Egypt reached $7.77 per million British thermal units (MMBtu) in June, up 20% from $6.46 in May and 16% from $6.72 in June 2025.
During H1 2026, the average export price increased by 11% to $8.04 per MMBtu, compared with $7.24 per MMBtu in the corresponding period of 2025.
