SODIC, Delta Oil cooperate to establish sustainable biodiesel ecosystem in Egypt

Arab Finance: Six of October Development and Investment (SODIC) has partnered with the waste oil management startup Delta Oil to build an ecosystem that supports the biodiesel industry, according to an emailed press release.

Under the partnership, Delta Oil is set to collect used cooking oil and convert it into biodiesel.

This move aims at maximizing the utilization of resources and minimizing environmental impact.

“We are excited to join forces with Delta Oil, as their strategy perfectly aligns with our steadfast commitment to minimize waste and reduce our carbon footprint, while extracting maximum value from oil resources, ultimately cultivating a circular economy," Ayman Amer, General Manager of SODIC, commented.

Over the past five years, Delta Oil managed to supply more than 720,000 kilograms of waste to biodiesel firms, which led to a great decrease of 218,181 of carbon emissions.

The startup also employs over 650 oil collectors from vulnerable communities across different governorates.
