Arab Finance: Egypt's total budget deficit dropped during the 10 months of fiscal year (FY) 2023/2024, reaching 5.58% of the gross domestic product (GDP) at the end of April, compared to 5.64% in the same period a year earlier, Asharq Business reported, citing data from the Egyptian Ministry of Finance.
The primary surplus amounted to 3.35% of the GDP, compared to 0.95% during the corresponding period a FY earlier.
Government expenditures increased by 44% year on year (YoY) to EGP 2.453 trillion, while revenues rose by 48% to 1.664 trillion.
