Arab Finance: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Wednesday’ trading session in the green zone, with market capitalization concluding the session at EGP 1.903 trillion.
The benchmark EGX30 index added 0.63%, to close at 2,8161.17 points.
The small- and mid-cap EGX70 equal-weight index (EWI) edged up by 0.18%, reaching 6,235.31 points, while the EGX100 index gained 0.11%, ending the session at 9,064.17 points.
The Sharia-compliant index, EGX33 Shariah index, rose by 0.3%, closing the session at 2,783.32 points.
Today’s trading saw 1.397 million shares exchanged over 112,227 transactions, generating a turnover of EGP 5.144 billion.
Retail investors seized 63.54% of total trading transactions, while institutional investors made up 36.45% of trading.
Egyptian traders constituted 84.72% of total trading transactions, while Arab and foreign investors accounted for 7.09% and 8.2%, respectively.
Egyptian traders were net buyers with EGP 158.943 million, while Arab and foreign investors were net sellers with EGP 132.319 million and EGP 26.624 million, respectively.
