Egypt, France mull boosting economic ties ahead of joint business forum

Arab Finance: Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Hassan El Khatib held a meeting with French Ambassador to Cairo Eric Chevalier to discuss enhancing economic cooperation between Egypt and France, as per a statement.

The talks focused on boosting trade and investment partnerships across multiple sectors to benefit both economies.

El Khatib highlighted the favorable investment environment in Egypt, including the availability of raw materials, skilled labor, and competitive costs, positioning Egypt as a strategic hub for French exports to the Middle East, Africa, and Europe.

He emphasized the importance of increasing bilateral investments and exports to meet Egypt's growth targets.

The meeting also addressed preparations for the upcoming Egyptian-French Business Forum, set to take place in Paris and Marseille by the end of September.

The event, organized by Business France and the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI), aims to attract more French investments to Egypt.
